Inappropriate and unsafe manual handling techniques are the biggest cause of workplace injury in the UK with back problems accounting for a third of all worker absences.

It's imperative that employers meet the need for appropriate training and risk assessments under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 by having their staff attend one of the following short courses:

Manual Handling Awareness, Manual Handling Principles or Manual Handling for Patients.
